Talking together

Press the microphone button (or start typing: the input bar is always at the bottom). Your voice is detected and transcribed on your machine, she figures out when you’ve finished your thought, and answers: voice, face, and mood together.

Behaviors worth knowing:

  • You can interrupt her. Start talking while she’s mid-reply and she yields: her voice stops and she listens. The detection is deliberately confident (a cough or passing noise won’t cut her off; sustained speech will), and if it was a false alarm, she picks back up rather than leaving dead air.
  • She hears silence correctly. The endpointing is prosody-aware: a thinking pause doesn’t cut you off, but she won’t leave you hanging once you’ve clearly finished.
  • Typing always works. The text bar and the mic feed the same conversation. Mix them freely: type while she’s talking, even.

Drop an image into the conversation and she’ll look at it: screenshots, photos, diagrams. Vision runs through the deep-dive model, so it needs the deep-dive toggle enabled.

For questions that need current information she searches and answers from live results, and the sources appear as small “via …” chips under the reply, so you can see where an answer came from and click through. (The URLs stay out of her spoken reply: she’ll never read a link aloud at you.)

For bigger asks (“research this properly”, “find me the best option and explain why”) she escalates into a longer-running mode with real tools: a browser she actually drives, web search, Wikipedia, files, and a working memory. Two things make it feel different from a loading spinner:

  • She narrates. While the work runs she tells you what she’s doing (“checking their pricing page… comparing the reviews now”) in her own voice.
  • You can move on. Ask something else and the deep dive yields to the new conversation.

Deep dives use the model you chose on the AI page, and answers come back conversational: spoken, brief, and in character, not a report dump.

Unclaw lives in a tall sidebar-style window designed to sit beside your work.

  • Pin (the pin icon in the top bar) keeps the window above your other apps when you want her always present. Unpinned, it behaves like any normal window.
  • Resize freely: the character re-frames to the window, and rendering resolution follows the window size, so a smaller window is also a lighter one.
  • The greeting corner shows the time, your name, and a rotating quote; the widget rail lives along the left edge.
